This Privacy Policy describes how Odyssey (“Odyssey,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our director’s viewfinder mobile application available on Google Play (the “Service“).

Odyssey is developed and operated by Chaand Parr Pictures, an individual developer based in Gujarat, India. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Chaand Parr Pictures as the developer of Odyssey.

By downloading, installing, or using Odyssey, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We try to collect as little personal information as possible, and most of what the App processes never leaves your device. Here is exactly what we collect and why.

1.1 Google Account Information

If you use the App’s trial or subscription features, the App uses Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in, we receive your basic Google profile information — your name, email address, and profile picture URL — along with an obfuscated account identifier. This is used strictly to verify your trial status and manage your subscription.

1.2 Location Data (Optional)

If you explicitly enable the App’s location overlay feature, the App accesses your device’s GPS to collect latitude, longitude, and altitude. This data is used solely to:

Embed geographical metadata (EXIF tags) into the photos and videos you capture, and
Display a reverse-geocoded street address on screen.

We do not transmit this location data to our own servers. Reverse-geocoding (converting coordinates into a street address) is handled by your device’s built-in geocoding services.

1.3 Camera and Sensor Data

To provide real-time framing overlays (crop factor, field of view, framing guides), the App reads your device’s hardware camera specifications (focal length, sensor size, aperture) and uses motion sensors (compass heading, accelerometer for tilt and roll). This technical data is processed locally on your device and may be embedded into the metadata of your captured media.

1.4 Device Information

The App reads your device’s model and available RAM to optimize performance, scale the user interface, and prevent memory crashes during high-resolution video recording.

1.5 Information You Provide Directly

If you contact us for support or feedback outside of Google Sign-In, we collect the email address you choose to give us so we can respond to you.

1.6 Purchase Information

Odyssey offers in-app purchases and/or subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Your payment (card details, billing address, etc.) is handled entirely by Google Play, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive, collect, or store your payment card details. We may receive limited, non-financial transaction information from Google (such as confirmation that a purchase or subscription is active) to unlock features and manage your subscription/trial.

1.7 What We Don’t Collect

We do not access your phonebook/contacts, and we do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

Authenticate you — securely verify your identity for trial access and in-app purchases via Google Sign-In and Google Play Billing.
Provide App functionality — calculate accurate crop factors and field-of-view, and display real-time framing guides, compass heading, and tilt/roll data.
Embed metadata — enrich your captured photos and videos with technical metadata (camera, lens, GPS coordinates, orientation) for use in post-production.
Optimize performance — scale the interface and manage memory based on your device’s specifications.
Respond to support requests you send us directly.

We do not use your information for advertising, do not build advertising profiles, and do not sell your information to anyone.

3. Data Storage and Sharing

Local storage: All captured photos, videos, EXIF metadata, and locally generated JSON sidecar files are saved directly to your device’s local storage/gallery. We do not upload, back up, or sync this media to any cloud service we operate.

Third-party services we rely on:

Google Sign-In — for authentication, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google Play Billing — for processing purchases and subscriptions, governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Device geocoding services — your device’s built-in service may process GPS coordinates to return a street address for the reverse-geocoding feature.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy).

4. Data Retention

Captured media (photos, videos, metadata, sidecar files): remains on your device until you delete it via the App or your device’s gallery. We hold no server-side copies.
Google account credentials: if you sign out of the App, your cached Google account credentials are securely cleared from the device’s Keystore.
Support emails: retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, or until you ask us to delete them.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Sensitive credentials are stored using your device’s secure Keystore. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Permissions Used by the App

To function correctly, Odyssey requests the following Android permissions:

Camera	Required to capture photos and record video.
Microphone (Record Audio)	Required to record audio alongside video.
Location (Fine/Coarse)	Required to embed GPS coordinates into capture metadata — only used when the location overlay is actively enabled by you.
Storage / Media Access	Required to save your captures to the device’s gallery and read existing camera specifications.
Internet	Required for Google Sign-In, in-app billing, and reverse-geocoding.

7. International Data Transfers

Chaand Parr Pictures is based in Gujarat, India, and any personal information we directly collect (such as your email address, if you contact us) is processed in India. If you are located outside of India, please be aware that information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India or other countries where our service providers (such as Google) operate.

8. Children’s Privacy

Odyssey is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at odysseyproadmin@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

9. Third-Party Links

Odyssey may contain links to third-party websites (for example, our support or contact pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, or legal requirements. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Odyssey after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Gujarat, India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
